FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

I do not participate in any insurance networks. However, if your plan includes out-of-network mental health coverage, you may be able to get a portion of the session fee reimbursed. I’ll provide you with a monthly superbill that includes the necessary codes and information. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?

  • What percentage of the fee is reimbursed?

  • Is there a deductible I need to meet first?

How long are sessions?

Standard sessions are 50–60 minutes. In some cases (especially EMDR or couples therapy), extended sessions may be available if clinically appropriate.

What’s your approach as a therapist?

My approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I draw from EMDR, somatic practices, internal systems work (parts/IFS-informed), and attachment theory. I aim to meet you where you are, move at a pace that honors your nervous system, and create a space where healing and self-discovery can unfold safely.

What are your session fees?

Individual sessions: $190

Couples sessions: $215

I am a private-pay provider, meaning I do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients are able to use their out-of-network benefits and I can provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

Do you offer teletherapy?

Yes. I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant online sessions for clients anywhere in Wisconsin. Many people appreciate the flexibility and comfort of accessing therapy from their home or office, and EMDR can be adapted for telehealth as well.

How do I get started?

The first step is to reach out. I offer a brief free phone consultation to help us determine whether we’re a good fit. If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule an intake session and begin co-creating a plan that fits your needs and goals.

Do you work with veterans or first responders?

Yes. I have extensive experience supporting combat veterans, first responders, and those exposed to high-stress, high-impact environments. My approach honors your service and your humanity — helping you process trauma and reintegrate strength, safety, and connection at your own pace. EMDR can be particularly helpful in reducing symptoms of PTSD, hypervigilance, and moral injury.

What is couples therapy like with you?

In couples therapy, I work with you both to understand patterns, build connection, and create space for new ways of relating. I often incorporate attachment-based principles and trauma-informed care, especially when individual trauma histories impact the relationship. My goal is not to take sides, but to help each of you feel seen, understood, and better able to connect.

Where is your office located?

My office is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, near the intersection of 84th St and Bluemound Road.
