Meet Margaret
Hi, I’m Margaret Olson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s most painful and complex challenges. I work with people facing marriage tension, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, and major life transitions. My clients come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed — and together, we work toward greater clarity, healing, and resilience.
I bring a deeply compassionate and neuroscience-informed approach to therapy. My work is grounded in Emotionally EMDR, attachment theory, somatic awareness, internal systems (parts) work, and relational psychotherapy. I am an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR therapist and Approved Consultant, which means I’ve completed advanced EMDR training and also support other therapists in their learning.
Experience You Can Trust
Throughout my 20+ year career, I’ve worked in a wide range of settings - from hospitals and community agencies to private practice - which gives me a broad understanding of how trauma, stress, and relational dynamics affect the mind and body. I’ve also supported veterans, first responders, LGBTQ+ clients, healthcare professionals, and others carrying complex emotional burdens.
Today, I provide both in-person therapy in Wauwatosa and telehealth for clients across Brookfield, Elm Grove, and surrounding Wisconsin communities. My space is one of safety, collaboration, and emotional presence, where you can show up exactly as you are, and we’ll move at a pace that respects your nervous system and life story.
Above all, I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported — not just to cope, but to truly heal.
